Colorado Springs ClearCorrectâ„¢An increasing number of children and adults alike are seeking orthodontics to improve the appearance and alignment of their teeth. While braces remain the most popular way to straighten teeth, they can have cosmetic and practical problems of their own. To help our patients in Colorado Springs enhance their smiles elegantly and conveniently, we offer ClearCorrect™ invisible braces.

If you or your child are seeking orthodontics but are wary of conventional metal braces, take a moment to consider whether you might be a candidate for this aesthetically superior treatment.

What Is ClearCorrect™?

Similar to Invisalign® and other invisible braces, ClearCorrect™ utilizes a clear aligner to shift teeth into place. This aligner gradually shifts teeth in a similar manner and timeframe as regular braces, but without the need for metal brackets or wires. Additionally, aligners are removable for eating and hygiene, eliminating many of the inconveniences of traditional orthodontics. The ClearCorrect™ process is simple:

  • After you are a determined to be a good candidate, your orthodontist will take impressions and images of your teeth. From these impressions, a 3-D model will be created of your bite, its projected outcome, and the necessary aligners to achieve that goal.
  • Multiple aligners will be customized with computer-assisted precision, each to be worn in succession throughout your treatment plan.
  • Aside from occasional check-ups to monitor the progress of your teeth, all you need to do is wear the aligner. With its custom fit and clear design, most people should have no idea that you’re wearing any orthodontics at all.

Who Is a Good Candidate for ClearCorrect™?

Patients who exhibit mild to moderate problems with crookedness, alignment, and spacing are often good candidates for invisible braces. Through a ClearCorrect™ treatment plan, you can fix any of the following problems:

  • Crowding: Teeth may grow in at an angle, pushing against adjacent teeth and leading to crookedness. If left unaddressed, patients may experience discomfort or difficulty maintaining hygiene in crowded areas of the mouth.
  • Spacing: Gaps in teeth are a common cosmetic concern and are more likely to trap food between them, leading to disease or decay.
  • Bite misalignment: When one or both rows of teeth are out of position, it can cause dental problems and impede eating habits. Overbites, underbites, and crossbites can often be corrected through aligners.
  • Crookedness: Even a few crooked teeth can have a large impact. Individual teeth may face noticeably inward, outward, or to the side, distracting from the rest of your smile.

ClearCorrect™ can achieve similar results to conventional braces within the same timeline, but its subtlety sets it apart. Therefore, adolescents or adults who wish to straighten their teeth discreetly are usually good candidates. As long as patients are diligent in wearing their aligners, satisfying results can be achieved without having to obstruct their teeth in the process.

Who May Not Be a Good Candidate?

While ClearCorrect™ can address a range of problems, some alignment issues are better handled through alternative orthodontic methods. If teeth are severely crooked or have a variety of complex alignment issues, braces can more aptly position each individual tooth. Aligners also cannot help teeth grow in properly or make room for new teeth as effectively as braces can. Consequently, patients with partially or fully impacted teeth may not be good candidates.  Finally, rotated teeth - usually canines - may be partially fixed through ClearCorrect™, but are generally best addressed with braces.
